Top baby care award for Crosshouse midwife Elaine

A midwife at Crosshouse Hospital has been recognised for her work and dedication with a prestigious award for being a healthcare hero.

Elaine Pirrie, who is a foetal services midwife at Ayrshire Maternity Unit at Crosshouse , was named a Scottish Hero by baby charity Tommy’s in its annual Let’s Get Baby Friendly Awards.

The Tommy’s and Danone Baby Nutrition Hero Award recognises the support of a midwife, GP or any other health professional who has gone the extra mile to support parents during pregnancy complications.

Elaine, was nominated by a Kilmarnock patient, after her invaluable support during the patient’s pregnancies.
