Knockentiber's bad spell

Knockentiber's in for a bad spell - thanks to East Ayrshire Council.

The village just outside Crosshouse has found its name spelled wrongly as Knockintiber on a grit bin, on Council leaflets and throughout the Council's websites.

You can read more about this in the Kilmarnock Standard.

So what do you think? Is this a mistake anyone could have made? Or is it a sign of declining standards and that someone at the Council is illet… ilite… cannae spell? Have your say!

Jack Connelly says

There's only one 'i' in Knockentiber and it comes after the only 't'.

My Grandfather Alexander Fulton was born in Knockentiber in 1875.

I have his birth certificate and they knew how to spell it then.

If I can spell it from 3000 miles away in 2011 how come the Cooncil cannae?? ex pat Jack Connelly
