Join in the Crosshouse scarecrow competition
26 OctoberIt's time to get creative in Crosshouse - and scare some crows into the bargain!
Crosshouse Community Council is organising a Scarecrow Competition this year. Open to individuals, schools, groups and businesses, the idea is to make the best scarecrow you can.
As long as the scarecrow meets some basic criteria - it must be a free-standing representation of a human or other being which would deter crows from raiding the crops around it - you can make it using any materials you have to hand. So if you fancy making a papier mache Simon Cowell or knitting Ann Widdicombe (OK, maybe not THAT scary), then go for it.
You need to enter your scarecrow by November 25 to be eligible, and judging will be carried out after that date.
