IT'S ABOUT TIME.
Just south of Kilmarnock, sits the village of Crosshouse on the A71
Oh the memories,as kids we had so much fun.
We never had computers, I-Pods or cell phones to while away the time.
A pair of 'sanny's'and a ball for the boys, peevers and skipping ropes for the lassies.
While playing they would chant in rhyme.
A fish supper from George Biagi's, we thought we had it made.
'Wrap it up Bella' (Fulton) and gie's a bottle of lemonade.
We remember when sweeties came off the ration.
There were long queue's for liquorice allsorts, McCowans toffee and Cadbury's chocolate.
The ultimate in sweetie passion.
Oh to be young again, carefree and not a worry.
Life passes by so fast, seems like everybody's in a hurry.
We had weans, now they have weans, we are the grampa's and the granny's.
Just think how time has passed, your weans are now the daddy's and the mammy's.
