Crosshouse Action Now (CAN)

John McHarg says:

CAN would like to expand the service offered to older people. What we are thinking about is LETS which is a Local Exchange Trading System. This is a barter system were local people share and exchange skills, services and materials without exchanging cash.

Think of it as a group of friends all doing favours for each other. The difference is: within the LETS system you don't need to know a friend for everything you would need doing or you wish to try out - you can make one by trading. You get things done for yourself with the LETS system by doing things for others. Below is just a sample of ideas of what you could do in our community.

Holistic treatment, car pool/share, coperative shopping, organic produce, equipment sharing, dog walking, pet sitting, decoration, gardening, computer help, use of tools, accommodation, babysitting, photocoping...... the list is endless.

If you would like to hear more just let me know and I will be happy to explain how it will work.
